Taking things for granted...

In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to forget the hardships that our ancestors faced. Living between 1850 and 1900 was not easy, and most people were literally slowly starving to death each day. Imagine having just one meal consisting of potatoes and water over a span of two days, and not being able to take a bath for several weeks in a row. These were the harsh realities of everyday life for many people back then.

It's easy to take things for granted in our modern world, where food is readily available, and we have access to clean water and personal hygiene products. We often complain about trivial things in life that don't matter, like slow internet or a bad hair day. But it's important to remember how lucky we are to have the basic necessities that were once considered luxuries.

As we go about our daily lives, let's take a moment to appreciate the abundance that surrounds us. Let's not take for granted the simple things that we have access to, like a hot shower or a variety of food choices. And let's remember the struggles of those who came before us, who lived through times when survival was a daily battle.

If you're reading this and you have food, water, shelter, love, decent health and a job that's paying you...count your blessings. Breathe and be grateful. And try and help those that may not have these things.
