Job offer negotiations can be a tightrope walk, especially when you've just edged out another candidate for the position.

If a company has had a tough time choosing between you and another candidate, and they extend the offer to you, be mindful of your requests during negotiations.

Asking for too many changes, especially on small details, can backfire. In a recent case with a client, the candidate who pushed too hard ended up losing out, and the offer went to the other candidate.

Remember, negotiation is about finding a balance. Be reasonable and prioritize what's truly important to you. You can always ask for the small stuff later.
